Netspend Hosts Austin FC “Title Night” & Donates $5K for The Hispanic Scholarship Consortium

In support of Hispanic Heritage Month, Netspend hosted “Title Night,” a soccer match between Austin FC and Nashville SC that featured various community activities. The event was in partnership with Austin FC and the 4ATX Foundation and is part of our commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work.

As part of the celebration, we focused on giving back to the Hispanic community and raised thousands of dollars for the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium Fund (HSC). During the game and throughout September, all guests could participate in the "Netspend round-up" at the Verde Store, and all round-up funds went directly to the HSC. Supporting the HSC is important to Netspend as we strongly believe that education is a path to empowerment and economic stability and has the power to transform lives.

At halftime, Netspend team members took the field to recognize the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium and presented HSC representatives with an award card highlighting Netspend’s donation drive. We asked Diana Holgate, SVP of Marketing, who was on the field for the presentation, to share her thoughts.

“It was such an honor to present Netspend’s donation to the HSC as part of our commitment to supporting our community through the power of education, and a great way to kick off the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.”

To celebrate our incredible employees and show them how much they are appreciated, we provided tickets for Netspend team members and their families to attend the game. In addition, we got to showcase some of our team members through various interactive experiences during the game.

First, Lucy Gonzales, a Regulatory Manager at Netspend, served as the game’s “Heartbeat Drummer” and led the stadium through the “Heartbeat of Austin” pre-match ritual before the team took the pitch.

Candy Reynosa, Senior Customer Experience Specialist, and Melinda Aguirre, Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office, both celebrating 20 years at Netspend, were the honorary co-captains of the game. They stepped onto the field together at the beginning of the match to take a photo with the Austin FC team.

Title Night was a great success. A special thank you to our team members for their leadership in this area and Austin FC for their continued partnership and working with us to maximize our impact on the community.
