How Overdraft Service1 works and what’s covered

How it works

Once Overdraft Protection is active, we may authorize and pay a transaction amount that exceeds your balance, up to $300. The negative balance must be repaid within 35 days.

Discretionary service

Whether we authorize an overdraft is discretionary and is impacted by factors such as your account activity, the deposits you make, the type of transaction and the amount.

Covered transactions

Overdraft Protection is available only for the following transactions:

  • Signature and PIN purchase transactions
  • ATM withdrawals

Ineligible transactions

ACH Debit transactions and those initiated through third-party bill pay service providers are not eligible for overdraft coverage.

How to enroll

Overdraft Protection is an optional service that you can enroll in to get covered when life happens and you are short on funds. To be eligible, you must:

Opt in to overdraft

Log in to your account or call 1-866-647-6929 to opt in.

Account information needed to set up direct deposit: routing number, accounting number, and account type

Set up Direct Deposit

Set up an initial Direct Deposit totaling at least $300 within 35 days of opting in and continue to receive Direct Deposits totaling at least $300 every 35 days to maintain eligibility.

Have a positive Available Balance at the time of service activation.

Overdraft fees1

There is a $20 fee for each transaction that overdraws your account by more than $10, up to a maximum of five (5) fees per calendar month and forty five (45) fees per calendar year.

The fee will not apply if the negative balance is repaid within 24 hours of the first transaction that caused you to overdraw your Account.

Stay under $10

There is no overdraft fee for transactions that overdraw your account by $10 or less.

Repay in 24 hours

Avoid an overdraft fee by bringing your balance positive within 24 hours of the first transaction that caused you to overdraw your Account.
