Executive Team

Kelley Knutson

Kelley Knutson serves as the president of Netspend. Previously, Knutson served as Executive Vice President of TSYS and President of International Issuer Solutions, based in London since 2003. He was responsible for TSYS’ strategic execution, global sales, business development, relationship management, local product partnerships and new growth initiatives outside North America (United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America). Prior to TSYS, Knutson served as CEO and acting chairman of Clear Money Ltd. (Clear), a provider of Electronic Bill Management Services to UK billers and financial institutions; SVP of GE Capital’s Global Consumer Finance (GCF) cards business, where he was responsible for developing and executing GCF’s cards strategy and driving card-based consumer finance initiatives in more than 15 markets around the world. Prior to GE Capital, he was SVP at Visa International, where he was responsible for developing/marketing Visa’s debit products and introducing e-commerce solutions (security, chip and remote banking) throughout Europe.

Knutson holds a B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Arizona University and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University.

Derek Tanis

Derek Tanis is the Senior Vice President leading Netspend’s Consumer Partnerships team, where he is responsible for a wide variety of strategic partnerships including PayPal, Western Union, ACE, Samsung, 7-11, HEB, and Albertsons as well as all of the brick and mortar distribution partnerships across the country.  The team manages retail distribution in over 70,000 retail stores including, CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Dollar General, Family Dollar, 7-11 and Kroger as well as over 10,000 check cashing and Alternative financial service providers including ACE, Advance America, CheckNGo, CLA, CFS and Moneytree.  Tanis began his career at Netspend in 2009 in the Product Development team where he spearheaded the launch of several new card programs and features.  Later, he joined Netspend’s Retail Channel where he oversaw retail operations and managed a variety of key relationships including PayPal, HEB, 7-Eleven, CVS, Walgreens and Safeway before leading the Partner Channel before consolidation with the Retail Channel.

Tanis has worked in the prepaid and payments industry for more than 15 years, starting out with a variety of start-ups and smaller prepaid marketing companies.  Prior to joining Netspend, Tanis worked at Skylight Financial as the Director of Product Management.

Tanis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder.

Beth Deck

Beth Deck serves as Netspend’s Executive Vice President of Finance, and is responsible for all aspects of financial planning, forecasting and budgeting, financial reporting, and risk and fraud management.  Prior to joining Netspend in 2008, Beth served as a Manager in the Austin practice of Tatum LLC, providing a wide range of accounting services to clients. From 2001 until 2006, Beth held various roles within the Audit practice of KPMG LLC in Austin. Beth received her BBA in Accounting and Honors Business and her Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed CPA in Texas.

Walt Granville

Walt Granville serves as Netspend’s Senior Vice President, Partnership Development. Walt leads a team of Partnership Development experts that are responsible for cultivating new relationships to support Netspend’s full range of consumer delivery channels including Fintech entities, Co-brands, Retail and Alternative Financial Services. An industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in the US and European financial services and payment industry, Walt has held roles managing strategic partnerships and product innovation teams for payment networks, processors, issuers and technology innovators. Prior to joining Netspend, Walt held various roles with Visa, First Data, Affinion Loyalty Group, and Monitise. Walt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech.

Diana Holgate

Diana Holgate is Senior Vice President, Netspend Segment Marketing where she leads marketing strategy, planning and execution for Netspend’s consumer and commercial business lines. Diana joined Netspend in 2009 where she led the strategic account management function for the Direct to consumer channel, signing new marketing partnerships and spearheading the launch of several new card programs. Later, she took on leadership of the direct to consumer marketing function, responsible for overall acquisition and retention strategies for Netspend’s Direct channel.

Diana’s prior experience spans both agency and client-side roles, with a focus on building high performing marketing teams that delivered results within multiple industries. She spent seven years at Carlson Marketing Worldwide (now Aimia) driving successful loyalty and data-driven marketing programs for global brands including Visa, Intel, HP, and Sun Microsystems. In previous roles she led brand, PR, and marketing strategy at CMP Media and drove the west coast expansion of fast-casual restaurant, Noah’s New York Bagels. Diana holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Vassar College.

Andrew Garner

Andrew Garner is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Commercial Prepaid at Netspend, and is responsible for the Payroll Card, 1099, Tip Network, Disbursement, and Incentive product sets including all sales and business development efforts, implementation, account management, operations, and strategy.  Garner previously served as Vice President of Sales & Business Development for Commercial Prepaid since March 2017.  Prior to that time, he held the leadership position of Director of National Sales.

Before joining Netspend in 2007, Garner worked for PNC Bank in its Business Banking unit.  He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Brian Hobbs

Brian Hobbs, Senior Vice President – Global Technology Services Consumer, has worked at Netspend since 2006 and is responsible for the overall direction, planning, execution and continuous evaluation of Netspend’s technology infrastructure and production environments that support its cardholder base.  Brian’s organization encompasses corporate services, networking, server administration, and data operations as well as DevSecOps, automation and cloud implementations that ultimately provide highly reliable transaction processing, online/mobile banking, and IVR platforms.

Prior to Netspend, Brian has held a number of Operations and Software Development leadership and individual contributor positions in Austin- and Silicon Valley-based companies including Medical Present Value, Full Degree, Orillion, Apple, NeXT Software, and MCI Systemhouse.  Brian received bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering, and Engineering and Public Policy, from Carnegie Mellon University.

Miguel A. Pozuelo

Miguel A. Pozuelo is Managing Director of MoneytoPay, a joint venture between Global Payments and CaixaBank to lead the European Market in prepaid and emoney services.

Over the last 10 years, he has been leading in CaixaBank Payments and Consumer the development of new payment solutions, the implementation of contactless payment in stores, the launch of NFC mobile payment and P2P payment services (Bizum), among other projects. Previously, he was Business Development Director at CaixaBank Payments, being responsible for the commercial strategy to increase electronic payments. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Servired (Spanish domestic scheme), of the Spanish Society of Payment Procedures (P2P Scheme in Spain “Bizum”) and of SOC Mobilitat (Mobility Services Company).

Miguel A. has a Bachelor´s degree in Economics from the Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain).

Shannon Johnston

Shannon Johnston serves as Chief Technology Officer, Consumer Solutions, Data and Architecture at Global Payments Inc. Previously, Shannon has had select C level roles: as CIO at Mspark, a results-oriented advertising and marketing services company, COO at ShopVisible, a SaaS eCommerce software company for B2B and B2C eCommerce, and CTO at Points of Light, a national non-profit organization focused on volunteerism and civic engagement.  Shannon has been in technology and the financial services industry for most of her career, having held roles at TSYS and CompuCredit, including Vice President, Information Technology – Global Infrastructure Services, where she was responsible for worldwide IT operations. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree from Armstrong State University, in Savannah, Ga.

Jason Gonzalez

Jason serves as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Netspend Corporation. Jason’s team in the legal department is responsible for providing legal and regulatory support to the Business and Consumer Solutions segment, including maintaining money transmission licenses, supporting product development, providing regulatory oversight, and drafting and negotiating agreements. Jason’s team in the compliance department is responsible for operating an anti-money laundering compliance program, including AML monitoring and reporting, sanctions screening, customer identification, and due diligence.  Prior to joining Netspend, Jason worked in the merchant acquiring segment for TSYS Acquiring Solutions. Jason is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.

Rick Cox

Rick Cox is the Senior Vice President of Operations leading Netspend’s Call-Center and Output Services operations.   Rick is an Air Force veteran and has over 35 years’ experience in the services and call-center operations industry.  He joined Netspend in 2012 and has taken progressive operational leadership roles.   Prior to Netspend, Rick held leadership roles in Dell’s Technical Services Global Operations teams and also was an independent leadership & operations consultant for several years.
